Responsible Business Forum

Once again, IBCSD together with Global Initiatives held a succesful Responsible Business Forum in Jakarta. RBF 2018 takes place on 27 – 28 March 2018, and located at Pullman Hotel Jakarta. The two-day event was filled with over 400 decision makers in the fields of food, agriculture and nutrition coming from various sectors, and was filled with discussions on sustainability issues within the business world.

RBF 2018 was attended by the Indonesia’s coordinator minister of economy, Darmin Nasution. In his speech, Darmin invites various stakeholders in Southeast Asia to ensure everyone gets safe and nutritious food, and collaborates on challenging issues on climate change, population growth, and land use competitions. According to Darmin, RBF Jakarta is a strategic partner for the Indonesian government in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Government expects the synergy of all parties to bring forth an exciting agricultural activity, including for the youth.

In line with Darmin, IBCSD President Shinta Kamdani said as a country with the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a major producer of agriculture and bridges between Asia and Australia. She also thinks that business as usual is no longer an option. Businesses need new leadership and ways of thinking to solve the challenges of sustainable development.

"Pursuing sustainable development makes companies more competitive, more resilient and adaptable in a fast-changing world, and more prepare for the future."
