Global Initiatives Partnerships Manager Indonesia

Project Period            : 4 months beginning June – September 2017

Contract under          : Global Initiatives

Reports to                 : Programme Manage at Global Initiatives

The Partnerships Manager, Indonesia, will be the key lead and point of contact for developing and managing the Sustainable Business Awards Indonesia 2017 with PwC.  The role is extremely focused on recruiting as many companies as possible (target 60) and to be the focal point on the ground for any questions. The rest of the administrative duties will be in coordination with Global Initiatives Team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire process of the award entries from initial interest of companies to the final completion of the questionnaire before handing over to PwC
  • Assisting with the coordination of the phone interview of each company with PwC
  • Achieve target of 60 companies to enter the awards
  • Working in collaboration with the Programme Manager in the GI team to organize the awards ceremony in Jakarta
  • Manage and promote the table sales for the awards dinner
  • Provide weekly progress updates (every Friday)
  • Be the local contact point for Global Initiatives in Jakarta for any local partners and sponsors.

Assistant to the TFA 2020 Regional Coordinator SEA

 (To be based in Jakarta)

 The Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) is seeking an Assistant to the Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA 2020) Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator to be based in Jakarta. The Assistant supports the day to day activities of TFA 2020 Regional Coordinator including project coordination and reporting.

TFA 2020 is a global public-private partnership in which partners take voluntary actions, individually and in combination, to reduce the tropical deforestation associated with the sourcing of commodities such as palm oil, soy, beef, and paper and pulp. The Global Secretariat of TFA 2020 is hosted at the World Economic Forum (WEF), Geneva, while the Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator is hosted at IBCSD.

 Responsibilities:

 Under the supervision of the TFA 2020 South East Asia Regional coordinator

  • Support the preparation of reports and engagement material
  • Support the TFA 2020 Regional Coordinator in the establishing weekly and monthly priorities for regional activities and reflecting them on TFA 2020 Southeast Asia calendar
  • Organize TFA 2020 regional virtual and in-person meetings, events, and conferences, including managing invitations, supporting technology platforms, on-site management, and preparing supporting materials.
  • Drive partner engagement on the TFA2020 digital platform
  • Act as the primary driver for TFA 2020 partners initiatives mapping in Southeast Asia
  • Work with TFA 2020 Secretariat Geneva to maintain TFA 2020 partners database

 Qualifications:

 Minimum 3 years of experience in project management

  • Minimum bachelor degree
  • Experience in working in the sustainable supply chain issues would be an advantage
  • Excellent English and Bahasa Indonesia both verbal and written
  • Good oral and written communication skill
  • Excellent Organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Advance skills of Microsoft Office, Internet, and virtual meeting tools

Conflict Resolution Unit ( CRU ) :

1. Program Manager

Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) seeks a Program Manager for Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU), a unit that focuses on providing support for mediation of land and natural resources management conflicts. The Program Manager holds responsibility for the development and the day to day implementation of CRU’s programs.

Duties and responsibilities of this position include:
• Contributing to the development of CRU strategic plan and annual program implementation plan
• Overseeing the implementation, and the regular monitoring, evaluation, and adaptation of all aspects of the program
• Preparing regular evaluation reports (monthly, annual) related to program development
• Working closely with partners and sub-contractors to ensure excellence in program implementation and delivery
• Ensuring that all reporting by partners and sub-contractors is completed as required
• Preparing proposals and reports to funders
• Preparing materials and making presentations at appropriate meetings and workshops
• Planning, organizing, and facilitating events (e.g., workshops, focus group discussions)
• Attending meetings to represent CRU as required
• Developing and implementing an appropriate communications strategy, including the maintenance of a contact database, development of an appropriate web-based presence, and maintaining regular communications with all interested audiences
• Undertaking other tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:
• Significant education and experience with issues related to natural resource management, agriculture, or rural development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of national and regional laws and policies related to natural resource management, plantations, and the forestry sector.
• Experience or interest in issues related to environmental conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated experience in program planning, management, and evaluation.
• A strong commitment to collaborative decision making and to public participation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, media communications, grant writing, and outreach materials production.
• Demonstrated fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

2. Engagement Manager

The Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) seeks an Engagement Manager for Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU) to develop and lead the Initiative’s stakeholder management and communications strategies. The CRU builds on IBCSD’s unique convening role, and success will largely depend on the ability to attract and productively engage targeted partners. The Engagement Manager will be expected to play a key role in building and maintaining strategic relationships with industry, government, civil society and academic stakeholders.

Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include:
1. Designing and implementing a partnership development strategy including identification, outreach and relationship building with stakeholders critical to program objectives
2. Supporting overall program strategy and development, providing input and guidance on potential stakeholder involvement, opportunities, and limitations
3. Designing and delivering a comprehensive communications strategy that will likely include targeted outreach, email lists, newsletters, website development, conference and networking event participation, event design and hosting, and other activities with the goal of developing abroad network of industry, government, civil society and academic stakeholders
4. Coordinating and communicating closely with existing and new partners on a day-to-day basis
5. Soliciting, managing and monitoring feedback from partners and stakeholders for use in strategy development and performance improvement; synthesizing feedback for submission to the Program Manager and use in evaluation and reports
6. Preparing and designing communication materials including program promotional documents, issue-brief summaries, and related materials
7. Developing and maintaining contact database (with support from the Program Assistant)
8. Supporting the Program Manager in the preparation and delivery of presentations at meetings and workshops; ensuring messages are aligned within the program and support program goals
9. Supporting the Program Manager in the planning, organizing, and facilitation of events
10. Contribute to the development and delivery of reports to stakeholders and the donor
11. Undertaking other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
1. At least five years of demonstrated experience building networks, coalitions and/or partnerships
2. Bachelor or Master’s degree in communication, business, marketing, public relations, or international relations
3. Previous leadership in the development and implementation of partnership and public relations strategies
4. A strong network of government, the private sector, and civil society actors with particular relevance to the plantation and forestry sectors and/or sustainable practices
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English including interpersonal communications, public speaking, media communications and materials design and production
6. Experience working closely with diverse partners including private sector, government, and civil society stakeholders
7. Political awareness and the ability to discuss sensitive subjects in a productive manner
8. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement strategies and methods, consultation processes, and consensus building techniques
9. Background and domain knowledge regarding environmental conflict resolution, the plantations and forestry sectors, and/or national and regional laws and policies related to natural resource management
10. A strong commitment to promoting sustainable natural resource management
11. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
12. Good attention to details, work well under pressure, and able to think strategically.

3. Knowledge Officer

The Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) seeks a Knowledge Officer for its Conflict Resolution Unit to collect and manage knowledge and lessons learned resulting from CRU’s programs.

Duties and responsibilities of this position include:
• To lead and develop strategy of data collection and lesson learned and review it regularly
• Support internal communication and record-keeping, develop tools for knowledge management to share best practices and lessons learned with other donors, the government, and other key stakeholders
• To ensure that there is a platform for knowledge sharing and support its usage among staff
• To integrate the lesson learned into best practices or advises for improvement
• To select the key partners for knowledge development and learning process and maintains good relationship with stakeholders and partners
• To ensure the dissemination of CRU knowledge and lessons learned in the professional environment and to gain feedback from external resources for the improvement
• Assist Program Manager to implement Monitoring and Evaluation tools, and monitor implementation tracking tools to ensure completion of high quality work
• Write quarterly activity report describing progress and achievements
• Undertaking other tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:
• Degree in social sciences, library science, communication, and business management, public relations or international relations.
• Experience or interest in issues related to environmental conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated experience in knowledge management and monitoring and evaluation.
• Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• A strong attention to details.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Able to finish tasks in timely manner.
